The ‘Summer holidays’ a phrase known to send shivers down the spines of parents across the country. The thought of keeping their teenager occupied everyday for 6 weeks can be a challenging and stressful time and unfortunately most parents (if working) don’t get the luxury of getting six weeks holiday off work.
One thing we can all agree on is that teenagers can get bored quite easily and need a lot of activities to keep them occupied and entertained. Well look ‘no further’ as we have a solution that will keep both you and your teenager happy this summer.
Each year our friends at Reaching Higher charity put on “Summer Blitz”, a jam packed 4-week summer programme for young people between the ages of 12-16. It also offers volunteering opportunities for young people aged 17+. The aim of the programme is to keep young people engaged in positive activities during the summer holidays.
What’s great is that there is a wide-range of activities to suit everyone’s taste like Performing Arts, Sports Activities, Cookery, Sports Day and BBQs. As well as some super cool trips like Thorpe Park, Trampoline Parks, Go Karting and much more.
One of the most appealing factors of this summer scheme (for parents anyway) is that it’s great value for money. For just £20 for 4 weeks your young person can attend all the general activities that Reaching Higher provide during Summer Blitz, this means all the Performing Arts, Sports Activities, Sports Day, BBQ, Football Tournament, Cookery and the final showcase!!
For the full price of £110 your young person can attend all the above, plus admission to all the trips, which this year are – Thorpe Park, Laser Tag, Go Karting, Cinema and Flipout which as you know is great value for money.
As an additional bonus, Summer Blitz is a great opportunity for young people to come together in a positive environment, make new friends, get involved in their local community, grow confidence and develop new skills.
Summer Blitz takes place within the Croydon borough, making it very accessible from wider London boroughs.
